Scent Lab: SYNESTHESIA

A multisensory exercise in perfume design.

This workshop explores the synesthetic connections between senses—how color, texture, and sound can find expression in scent. Over three hours, participants are guided through sensory studies that expand the language of perfume, learning to translate one medium into another.

Through this process, aromatic materials become instruments of cross-sensory design, composed to capture the mood and atmosphere of each participant’s chosen inspiration. The outcome is both experiment and artifact: a 10 ml fragrance in spray or roll-on form, a personal rendering of synesthetic perception.

Tickets $145 each. All materials are provided. No prior experience is necessary. This event is in conjunction with Portland Design Month 2025
